Time will tell

“I think that for free men a sense of shame over the conduct of their affairs is the most compelling necessity of all.” (Demosthenes, Athenian politician, c.350BCE)

Well that accounts for one of the things wrong with our premier. Have you heard what he said in parliament yesterday when asked about the continuation of the shredded letter affair? "I've been away for a week". Where has he been that he can't check his emails or have an assistant call him and say, Paul, something's coming up that you're going to be asked about in Parliament, I'll send you the details, have a look." Mars? This is Tasmania, true, but that is not a disadvantage and cannot be used as such. His mail doesn't have to come to him by convict ship any more, we have the superhighway here just as anywhere else. People are organised, with assistants and general levels of competence. And this is the man who is trying to convince us he wants to lead the way to a billion dollor supereconomy strategy via the pulp mill. Puuurlease.

Perhaps someone did tell him but his ears were covered by the bum cheeks of the Chairman of Gunns Limited.
